Alexandra, ECE, Manager I have been a registered early childhood educator since completing my program in Ottawa, ON in 2018. I moved to the island just six months later with my three year old son Henry and became recognized by the province as an infant and toddler educator, an early childhood educator as well as a special needs educator. Working with children is undoubtedly what makes me happy. I've held many positions in daycare settings since the beginning of my apprenticeship and have gained a variety of skills with children as well as parents, coworkers and people in our small but mighty ECE community. I full-heartedly believe in the importance of fostering positive and inclusive environments for children and their well-being. I have just recently completed my BA in Psychology at Laurentian University and am so incredibly fortunate to be with the team at Centennial Day Care. I hope to continue learning from children as they learn from me.
Grace, ECE Working with children has always been my passion. I have worked with children most of my life in a variety of ways. Seeing the smiles, hearing the laughter, and observing the growth and development of each child is a joy. My belief is that children learn and grow through play, exploration, discovery, and creativity.
Barbara, ECE I am a young at heart senior grandmother of two, mother of two and fairy godmother to many kids that I had the pleasure and joy of working with over the years. I have worked in child care since 2002, when I owned and operated my own Licensed Family Child Care (Barb’s Playcare) until 2017. Since then I have worked as an ECEA at Carousel Child Care and now I am a fully certified ECE for Centennial Daycare.
My love of working with children allows me to experience life as seen through the eyes of a child. I am so blessed to work with a wonderful group of educators who teach me new things every day. I believe that a safe, loving and nurturing environment provides the foundation for learning and that my job as an educator is to guide my little friends as they experience new things, support them as they attempt challenges and encourage them each to reach their full potential.
Jungyoon, ECE Hi, my name is Jungyoon Kwon. I’m so excited to join the lovely team as an educator with Centennial daycare! I have worked in child care since 2011, when I was in South Korea. I moved to Canada in 2018 and got an ECE/IT certificate. I enjoy getting to watch the children discover, succeed, and learn new skills as well as building a friendship with every child in daycare, they truly become part of my heart. Also, I love working with children they make me happy to come to work every day.
