I have been a registered early childhood educator since completing my program in Ottawa, ON in 2018. I moved to the island just six months later with my three year old son, Henry, and became recognized by the province of BC as an infant and toddler educator, an early childhood educator as well as a special needs educator. Working with children is undoubtedly what makes me happy. I've held many positions in daycare settings since the beginning of my apprenticeship and have gained a variety of skills with children as well as parents, coworkers and people in our small but mighty ECE community. I full-heartedly believe in the importance of fostering positive and inclusive environments for children and their well-being.
In 2021 I completed a BA in Psychology through Laurentian University and have just recently been offered admission to Western University to
the Master of Professional Education in the field of Early Childhood Education program. I am so incredibly fortunate to be with the team at Centennial Day Care. I hope to continue learning from children as they learn from me.

Working with children has always been my passion. I have worked with children most of my life in a variety of ways. Seeing the smiles, hearing the laughter, and observing the growth and development of each child is a joy. My belief is that children learn and grow through play, exploration, discovery, and creativity.

Hi, my name is Jungyoon! I’m so excited to join the lovely team as an educator with Centennial daycare! I have worked in child care since 2011, when I was in South Korea. I moved to Canada in 2018 and got an ECE/IT certificate. I enjoy getting to watch the children discover, succeed, and learn new skills as well as building a friendship with every child in daycare, they truly become part of my heart. Also, I love working with children they make me happy to come to work every day.

In 2020, I took the Community, Family and Child Studies program through Camosun. The CFCS brought forward meaningful principals and allowed me to obtained my ECEA certificate. I am currently working towards receiving my full ECE Diploma! Since then, I have worked at two different centres and learned quickly that my heart aligns with the morals, philosophies, and environment of Centennial Day Care Centre. Working and learning alongside children adds an excitement to my world that is unmatched! Experiencing a child's perception of their environment and witnessing their milestones, at all ages and stages, brings me joy. I hope to continue coming together in communities of practice and developing my ability to respectfully live and learn together.
